Pubs & Villages: Explore Sussex villages with their historic churches and cosy pubs serving great food. Our village pub in Upper Dicker is The Plough just 5 minutes down the road (15 minutes walk) with a roaring log fire, great garden and delicious food.

The Cricketers Arms, Berwick Village after a walk along the Old Coach Road or Bo-Peep amongst the sheep at the top of the Downs.
The Yew Tree, Chalvington - country pub with cricketing history and lovely garden.
The Gun, Gun Hill.
The Tiger, East Dean after a walk from Beachy Head.
The Snowdrop, Lewes after a wander round the antiques emporiums, shops (some of our favourites amongst a great selections being Flint, Closet and Botts and Wickle) and historical buildings of this lovely market town. Also,Laporte's and Bill's in Lewes.

Walking, cycling, paragliding and taking in the iconic landscapes of the South Downs National Park, visit Birling Gap, the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head and walk the Vanguard Way, the Cuckoo Trail or the South Downs Way, with stunning views of patchwork fields and villages and the glittering seas of the Channel below.
There's plenty of free parking here at Starnash, so if you want to enjoy a drink while you're out, you could pre-book a local taxi to pick you up from the farmhouse.
