Rural Retreat

time to do what you love

the place to be if you are seeking freedom to be creative without the clatter of everyday life

At Starnash Farmhouse you will find space to think and a sanctuary of nurture and comfort where all your needs are taken care of. Whether you are starting out on a project, in the flow, or tying up some loose ends, time away from your daily routine can be transformative.

Rather than having tutored courses, we aim to create an environment at the farmhouse which gives you the freedom to devote yourself to what really matters to you - alone, or in the company of a few other like-minded people.

You can be sociable or have peace and privacy.

You can come for a day or for longer.

There are lovely farmhouse rooms that you can make yourself at home in; you can use the garden on a fine day, snuggle up by a wood-burning stove in the winter, or work at the farmhouse table.

As a retreat guest you can be at the farmhouse throughout the day for the duration of your stay (B&B guests vacate the premises between 11am-4pm) so that you can concentrate on your art, craft or writing.

If you would like to stay, we have four en-suite rooms - three doubles and a cosy attic twin room. We also have our self-catering shepherd's hut.

Come alone, or come as a group who share a common interest.

There's free Wifi, and ample free parking space and we're easily accessible by train and taxi.

Non-Residential Retreat:

10am - 6pm, £70 to include refreshments all day and a home-cooked lunch. If you are within easy travelling distance and would like to work in the peaceful farmhouse setting for several days without staying, that is fine.

Residential Retreat:

King size en-suite room, breakfast included, £130 per day.

Twin room with shower, breakfast included, £100 per day.

There's a great village shop half a mile down the road for any provisions you might want and it has a cafe selling delicious food until 2.30pm. There is also our local pub, 'The Plough', about a mile down the road which serves lovely food seven days a week until 9pm (8 o'clock on Sundays).

If you'd like to eat in the farmhouse, just let me know in advance and I will cook you a fresh seasonal lunch (£15) or supper (£20). Please do bring your own alcoholic drinks - there are 'fridges in all the rooms and the shepherd's hut.
